Important WMC Track Championship Documents Welcome to the Yarmouth Track and Field Complex As we look forward to a day of spirited athletic competition, sportsmanship, and support for the best efforts of the athletes, we ask for the full cooperation of all to make this large event run smoothly. Thus, we ask that athletes, coaches, and spectators adhere to the following guidelines: Yarmouth High School has a NO TOBACCO policy, does NOT PERMIT PETS at these events, requests bus parking at the designated parking lot, will have police coverage, and has an athletic trainer on site. There are port-a-potties (including one that is handicapped accessible) on site and the locker room will be available for ATHLETES ONLY. Teams should set up in the outfield of the baseball field (above the track). Please refrain from throwing Frisbees, calls, etc. for the safety of athletes and spectators. Also, the playing of loud music or engaging in distracting behaviors will not be permitted. These rules also pertain to spectators. Athletes, coaches, and spectators must stay outside the fence surrounding the track. Our new handicapped accessible bleacher provides a great deal of seating. Several small bleachers have been placed to view the field events. Also, we ask that those who choose to stand please step far enough away from the fence so that they do not block the view of others. A DESIGNATED COACHES AREA is located on the hill nearest the start-finish line. This is reserved as a meeting area for coaches. ONLY ATHLETES PARTICIPATING OR REPORTING TO A RUNNING EVENT SHOULD BE INSIDE THE FENCE. ONLY 1/8” spikes are permitted (other than for javelin). Any spikes longer will result in a disqualification. NO warm-up running will be permitted on the infield of the track. It is the responsibility of the athletes and coaches to get participants to their events on time. Please be aware of the time and event schedule. If an athlete needs to leave a field event to run, the athlete MUST tell the official as soon as possible. After the running event, the athlete MUST return immediately. If the Field Event official has determined that the running event has been completed and that a significant time has passed, that official may disqualify the athlete who fails to check back into the field event with the official. Event results will be posted in a designated area. We ask that you do not approach the scorer’s table for results or times. This only slows the posting of the results. All should use proper trash containers. Athletes and coaches are asked to double-check team areas before the departure. Lastly, please take time to thank the officials, volunteers, and meet workers for their efforts in bringing this meet to Yarmouth, Have a great day and BEST WISHES TO ALL!
